I’m a Mexican-American public theologian, writer, introverted-activist, and spiritual director called to help people live into a healthy, contextualized, and integrated faith, especially those navigating faith deconstruction, inter-generational trauma, or pain from religious institutions. Whether through writing, podcasting, or spiritual direction, I aim to create resonant spaces where people can encounter the Divine with their full, honest selves.
My work reflects a deep commitment to healing and liberation. I often write at the intersection of faith, justice, and pop culture, engaging theological questions with nuance, compassion, and a touch of humor.
I’ve developed and produced over ten podcast seasons and contributed to platforms such as Christianity Today, Think Christian, Fuller Youth Institute, Fuller Magazine, and the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA). I bring a multidisciplinary lens to everything I do, curating safe spaces where emerging generations can cultivate their development and faithfully engage the world around them.
My academic background includes a BA with majors in Film & Media Studies and Spanish, and a minor in Art History from UC Santa Barbara, and an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Youth, Family, and Culture. These studies continue to inform how I engage narratives, culture, and theology across mediums.
My creative practice is shaped by my own lived experiences and a desire to hold space for the sacred in everyday life. When I’m not ideating or writing, you’ll likely find me wandering in nature, immersed in ancestral stories and culinary traditions, or savoring moments of solitude with a cup of herbal tea.
My Core Values
Authenticity
I seek to be genuine, vulnerable, and transparent about who I am and where I am in my spiritual journey by acknowledging my history, social location, questions, and biases.
I acknowledge that I’m learning, in process, and evolving. I’m not perfect, I make mistakes, and I don’t have all the answers!
Inclusivity
An integral part of my formation is to learn from diverse perspectives, especially from individuals and communities who have been marginalized.
I seek to create safe spaces where marginalized and excluded perspectives and individuals are integrated and celebrated.
Justice
I oppose any form of injustice and oppression.
I affirm and support the inherent worth, dignity, and basic rights of all people regardless of their background, identity, or lived experiences.
Curiosity
I honor my natural curiosity, which fosters my learning, questioning, creativity, delight, and spiritual flourishing.
I cultivate a healthy and respectful curiosity for a posture of humility, empathy, and compassion.
Indiginization
I believe recovering, honoring, and centering holistic and integrative Indigenous wisdom, and practices is important to my identity, healing, spirituality, and how I interact with others.
I hold space for individuals who are on a journey of deconstruction and/or decolonization.
